Itinerary Overview (7-Day Trek)
Day 1: Rongai Gate (1,950m) to Simba Camp (2,650m)
Drive to the remote northern side. Start trek through pine forest and farmlands.

Day 2: Simba Camp to Second Cave Camp (3,450m)
Hike through heathland with views of Kibo and Mawenzi peaks.

Day 3: Second Cave to Kikelewa Camp (3,600m)
Continue through moorland and up to the quieter slopes of Kilimanjaro.

Day 4: Kikelewa to Mawenzi Tarn Camp (4,330m)
Climb to Mawenzi Tarn beneath the striking Mawenzi peak. Acclimatization walk optional.
⛺ Overnight at Mawenzi Tarn Camp.
Day 5: Mawenzi Tarn to Kibo Hut (4,700m)
Trek across the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo volcanoes. Rest before the summit push.
⛺ Overnight at Kibo Hut.
Day 6: Summit Day – Kibo to Uhuru Peak (5,895m), descend to Horombo Hut
Begin summit attempt at midnight. Reach Uhuru Peak by sunrise, then descend to Horombo Hut.
🏠 Overnight at Horombo Hut.
Day 7: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate (1,860m)
Final descent through moorland and forest. Celebrate with your team and receive a summit certificate.
End of trek.
