Day by Day
The Itinerary
Arrive at Kigoma Airport and transfer to the lake shore. Take a boat ride across Lake Tanganyika to reach Gombe. Check into your lodge and enjoy a forest walk or relax by the lake.
Overnight in Gombe.
Morning briefing with TANAPA ranger guides. Trek into Gombe forest tracking wild chimpanzees. Spend up to 1 hour observing chimp family interactions. Afternoon hike to Kakombe Waterfall.
Second chimpanzee trekking session or guided forest hike to Jane’s Peak for panoramic views over Lake Tanganyika. Afternoon swimming or relaxing at the lake shore.
Breakfast at Gombe lodge, scenic boat cruise back to Kigoma town, and transfer to Kigoma Airport for your departure flight.
