Day by Day
The Itinerary
Arrive at Kigoma Airport and transfer to the lake shore. Board a private boat ride across Lake Tanganyika to reach Gombe Stream National Park. Check into your lodge/camp, receive an expedition briefing, and enjoy an evening walk or relax by the lake.
Overnight in Gombe.
Morning briefing with TANAPA ranger guides. Trek into Gombe forest tracking habituated chimpanzee communities. Spend intimate time observing chimp foraging, grooming, and social bonds. Afternoon hike to Kakombe Waterfall.
Early morning chimpanzee trekking session to observe morning troop behaviors. In the afternoon, embark on a guided hike to Jane's Peak for sweeping panoramic vistas over Lake Tanganyika and the Rift Valley ridges.
Explore Gombe National Park with a final chimpanzee trekking session or guided forest walk. After lunch, depart Gombe by boat and enjoy a scenic cruise across Lake Tanganyika back to Kigoma town.
Upon arrival, transfer to Sunset Vista Hotel for check-in, dinner, and relaxation.
Overnight at Sunset Vista Hotel, Kigoma.
Enjoy breakfast at Sunset Vista Hotel before checking out. Transfer to Kigoma Airport for your scheduled departure flight.
